Research focused on decision analysis methods in economics and management. Publications in Poland and abroad - including author or co-author of six books, co-editor of the Annals of Operations Research yearbook, over 100 articles and conference papers published, among others at Operations Research, IEEE Transactions on System Man and Cybernetics, European Journal of Operations Research. Active participation in scientific conferences in the country and abroad (presentations, moderation and chairing sessions, organization).
Repeatedly a reviewer for KBN (NCN) and for international scientific journals. Scientific cooperation - Belgium, Canada, USA, Ukraine, United Kingdom. Visiting professor at the School of Business at Carleton University and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Ottawa in Canada. Sixteen promoted doctors. Over two hundred promoted masters.
Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Team of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for Young Scientists, Chairman of the Politics Scholarship Chapter. Awards of the Minister and Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics for organizational, scientific and didactic achievements. Winner of the "Master" subsidy of the Foundation for Polish Science. Twice the prestigious Canadian Executive MBA Program award for Excellency in Teaching. Distinction in the Polish American WEMBA program.

M.Sc. in Physics (Warsaw University), Ph.D. in Mathematics (Polish Academy of Science), Habilitation and Professor’s title in Economics.

Tenured Professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the SGH Rector in term 2012 – 2016. The National Council for Science and Higher Education (NCSHE) Presidium Member and the Head of the NCSHE Commission for Education and then the Head NCSHE Commission for International Affairs. The Presidium of the Conference of Rectors od Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) Member and the Vice-Head of CRASP Commission for  Accreditations in Rankings. The National Science Centre Council Member and the Head of the NCS Commission for International Affairs.

The Adjunct Professor at Carlson School of Business, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.

Research interests: Decision Analysis Methods, Negotiation Support Procedures, Economics of Education, Economics of Privacy. The author and co-author of six books and numerous articles.

Advisory Activities: the Member of Board of the Economic Award of the President of Poland 2013-2015, the Member of the Advisory Committee of the Strategic Economic Thought (for Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Economy), the Member of the Commission for Research and Innovation, Polish Olympic Committee. Vice-President of Confederation of Rectors of Economic Universities in Poland. General Co-Chair of the INFORMS GDN 2015 Conference and the member of program councils of science festivals. The leader of high-budget projects (PHARE, HESP, PALP), the coordinator of teams in EU projects (ALIPRO, TAMI), the cooperation with private sector (Aviva Pension Fund, Commerzbank, E&Y, McKinsey, BCG, T-Mobile, Era) and public sector (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Energy/Economy). The member or chairman of the Ministerial Committees granting scholarships and chairman of the Selection Committee of „Polityka”.
